From the Christmas Tree to the Phone, Kanoo’s Digital Gift Cards make Holiday Shopping Easier

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, just not the one that we’re used to. Parties, family dinners, celebrations, and even gift-giving will be different this year.

Why? Because the rapid spread of COVID-19 has forced us all into a new reality, one where we never leave home without a mask, regularly sanitizing our hands, and keeping a safe distance away from others.

Local digital payments platform Kanoo is here to make life easier by giving you the perfect gifting option this holiday season.

We know that at the heart of most Christmas festivities here in The Bahamas is gift-giving between loved ones. However, the process of getting that perfect gift can be stressful and time-consuming, sitting in heavy traffic, finding no parking space, standing in long lines, and waiting for what could feel like an eternity to have the items gift-wrapped.

Life has been stressful; life has been challenging, but gift shopping is one task that doesn’t have to be. For the consumer, purchasing a Kanoo digital Gift Card saves you time, money, and a headache. It also ensures that the recipient gets exactly what they want when they want it. And for the merchant, it’s a safe, easy, and cashless revenue stream.… Read the rest

Kanoo approaching 13,000 active users

In less than ten months, digital payment provider Kanoo has grown its active users from a couple of dozen to almost 13,000 people who are making digital fiat transactions daily.

Kanoo’s Chief Executive Officer Keith Davies said this growth is indicative of the times given the COVID-19 pandemic.

Davies added he foresees this form of financial transaction experiencing a groundswell of adoption.

“Because of the circumstances that we find ourselves in, we’re going to see adoption take place. We categorize them as early adopters, late adopters, and never adopters. The early adopters typically tend to be the younger adopters, technically savvy persons, and are not afraid of change and new technology coming to the fore. They will adapt immediately because it saves them time, they’re used to doing transactions online, which makes doing those transactions easier. So you’re going to see a section of the population where it’s not a big deal,” he told Guardian Business yesterday.

“We are beyond 12,000 and approaching 13,000 users shortly, and we started with a couple of dozen persons back in December.”

Davies continued, “Let me distinguish, not 13,000-plus downloads. These are 13,000 active users; people identified and using Kanoo. Companies always do this, well I have 50,000 downloads, but how many people are actually using it?”… Read the rest

Keith Davies, Kanoo’s chief executive officer, told Eyewitness News that its users could expect “seamless” integration of the Sand Dollar onto its platform as it has received the “green light” from the Central Bank.

Davies said that the company, which launched last December, has seen a “healthy” uptake of the Kanoo App by active users.

“To-date, we are well on our way past the 12,000 user mark,” he said.

“We are accelerating in terms of the number of users coming on. We see a very healthy engagement there. We have been receiving great feedback. We do a lot of outreach to individuals to see how things have been going, and the feedback has been constructive. That is something that we really pay attention to because that is how we get better. We look forward to that constructive criticism.”

Davies said Kanoo users could expect a seamless transition with the Sand Dollar on the platform.

“We were one of the AFI’s approved. We were also advised that we were at Tier II, meaning that following the security assessment, which was quite vigorous, we have been given the green light to integrate the Sand Dollar into our wallet.… Read the rest
