Kanoo is a digital wallet that allows you to send and receive money, anywhere in The Bahamas. With Kanoo, transactions are no longer a hassle. Our digital wallet is a safer, more convenient, cashless option.

How do I sign up?

Signing up is extremely quick and easy. Download the app from the Google Play Store, for Android users or the App store, for IOS users. Once the app is installed on your phone, follow the prompts, to create your account.

How do I load money onto my phone?

Visit any of our authorized agents. Present your load code and instantly load cash to your wallet, once it is within your transactional limits. Full listing of agents is available on the Kanoo website.

How do I withdraw money from my phone?

Visit any of our authorized agents. Present your withdraw code and instantly access your cash, once it is within your transactional limits. Full listing of agents is available on the Kanoo website.

What are my transactional limits as a consumer?

Your transactional limits depend on your verification level.

Level 1 Verification Limits

  • Hold up to $500 in your wallet per month.
  • Transact up to $300 daily.
  • Transact up to $300 monthly.

Level 2 Verification Limits

  • Transact and hold up to $15,000 in your wallet per month.
  • Transact up to $2,500 daily.
  • Transact up to $15,000 monthly.
How do I become Level 2 Verified?

Follow our quick step by step process on your app. Simply provide your current street address and upload the required government-issued ID. If you do not have the required ID or need assistance, contact us for assistance.

What is the age limit to open a Kanoo account?

For a Level 1 user, there is no age limit. However, to become Level 2 verified, you must be 18 years or older.

How do I reset my password?

On the login page of the app, click “I Forgot My Password.” Type in your email address and a password reset email will be sent to you. Click the link within the email to generate a new password.

Is my money and private information secured?

Security is our top priority. Not only are we licensed by the Central Bank, but our platform is fully encrypted and PCI compliant. Our platform is protected by using anti-fraud and identity verification measures, including pin codes, one-time passwords, account notifications, geo-location, and disable features.

How long does it take for money to be transferred from one digital wallet to another?

Instantly. You will receive the funds in your mobile wallet, as soon as it is sent. You will receive a notification to confirm, once the notification option is enabled.

What are the benefits to signing up as a merchant?

Kanoo’s merchants can monetize existing and new clients through direct campaigns that will build awareness, drive sales, and create loyalty amongst customers, increasing their revenue stream. Additionally, save money by paying employees, other Kanoo merchants, and bills digitally.

What is the signup process for a Merchant?

Who can I transact with?

All merchants and consumers signed up in our network.

How do I upload funds to my Kanoo account?

A merchant must directly contact Kanoo’s Finance Department to exchange Fiat Currency for Digital Currency on their Cash Card. No funds will be loaded before a merchant pays.

How do I withdraw funds to my Kanoo account?

A merchant must directly contact Kanoo’s Finance Department to exchange Digital Currency for Fiat Currency via Cheque.

Does Kanoo offer merchant processing? And if so, what is the cost?

Currently, we do not have the capabilities to process Visa or Master Card transactions.

What device do I need to process digital payments?

As a merchant, you have three options for processing Kanoo payments.

  1. Download the Kanoo POS register application directly onto either an Android or IOS device. This option requires no additional hardware.
  2. Sign up to receive a stand-alone PAX terminal. It may be used to process Kanoo digital payments, debit card, and credit card transactions, and topping up BTC and Aliv prepaid minutes onto a customer’s phone. Fees for processing these payments can range from 1.5 to 2%.
  3. Kanoo’s POS register may directly integrate throughout the merchant’s POS system. Integration costs are calculated on a case by case basis.
Do I have to purchase Kanoo’s device, or can my existing credit card terminal be integrated with Kanoo’s system?

Yes, you do have to purchase one of our devices. But not to worry, Kanoo’s devices are top-quality and affordable. Our team installs and maintains these devices, so you don’t have to.

Are my transactions on Kanoo linked to my bank account?

Currently, it is not. You must either log on to the app on your phone or onto Kanoo’s website for you to see your transactions.

What is the transaction fee?

Merchants are charged 1.75% for every transaction that occurs on Kanoo’s network.

Is it necessary to download the Kanoo app for account access?

Yes, downloading the Kanoo app is required for accessing your account.

How can I download the Kanoo app?

You can download the Kanoo app by visiting your device’s respective app store, such as the Play Store for Android or the App Store for iOS. Simply type “Kanoo” in the search bar, click on the purple Kanoo icon, and then proceed to click the download button.

What is the cost of the ID card?

The cost of the ID card is $25 plus applicable VAT.

How long does it take to get a replacement ID card?

Replacement IDs are processed within 3 days.

What happens while I wait for my replacement ID?

During the waiting period, you will be provided with a temporary NFC band for continued use.

Does each student get their own ID?

Yes, students in Grade 4-12 each receive their own ID card.

Can students only pay with the ID card?

During the transitional phase, payments can be made with both cash and the ID card.

How do parents deactivate the ID card?

In the Kanoo Wallet, tap your SAND DOLLAR CARD, go to “Manage Linked NFC Devices,” tap the linked account, check the status (active or inactive), and tap inactive to successfully deactivate the ID card.

How do I set spending limits for my child’s ID card?

In the Kanoo Wallet, tap your SAND DOLLAR CARD, go to “Manage Linked NFC Devices,” tap the linked account, find “Spending Limit,” and choose the amount that best suits you.

What are the spending limits for my kids?

Spending limits are $100.00/month, $300/month, $500/month, and $1,000/month.

How can I set a daily spending limit for my child’s ID card?

Currently, there is no option to set a daily spending limit.

How many kids can I add to my account?

You can add as many kids as you’d like.

Where can I load funds?

You can load funds at any Kanoo Agent, such as Super Value, or at our loading stations at the school. Be sure to load the funds directly to your SAND DOLLAR CARD.

How can I add funds to my Kanoo account?

You can add funds using your debit or credit card or visit any Kanoo Agent. Ensure the payment method is SAND DOLLAR.

Where can I find my child’s ID card in my Kanoo wallet?

Navigate to “Manage linked NFC Devices” in your Kanoo wallet to view and manage your child’s ID card.

What happens when a transaction occurs on my child’s ID card?

You will receive a notification, and all transactions can be reviewed under the “Transaction History” tab in your Kanoo wallet.

Who should I contact in case of fraudulent activity?

Please contact the school administration to report any fraudulent activity.

How secure is the money in my Kanoo account?

Your funds are highly secure within the Kanoo platform. We adhere to PCI (Payment Card Industry) standards, ensuring robust security measures to protect your financial information. Your peace of mind is our priority.

What is the loading fee?

There is a nominal loading fee of $1.

Where can I load funds?

You can load funds at any Kanoo Agent, such as Super Value, or at our loading stations at the school. Be sure to load the funds directly to your SAND DOLLAR CARD.

How can I check for notifications?

Log into your Kanoo wallet and tap on the Notifications tab at the bottom of the screen.

How will the students pay?

The students utilize the tap-to-pay system by tapping their ID cards on the Kanoo terminals.

Are there transactional fees for using Kanoo?

No, there are no fees for transactions.

If my child loses their card, is their information saved?

Yes, the system retains their information.

What should I do if the system is inoperable?

Contact School Administration for assistance.

Where else can I use my Kanoo wallet?

Explore all our merchants listed on the Kanoo website under the Merchants and Agents tab, accepting both Kanoo Dollars and Sand Dollars.
