Surviving January: I’m ready to tell my story
January can be one of the toughest months of the year. After the holidays, many Bahamians find themselves stretching every dollar, getting creative with finances, and relying on resilience, humor, and faith to pull through.
Surviving January is a social media campaign by Kanoo Pays created to give the community a platform to share real stories of how they are navigating the month financially—and to offer support where it’s needed.
We’re inviting the public to tell their story. Whether it’s through a comment, a short video, or a creative photo moment, participants are encouraged to show us how they are surviving January and making it work.
To help lighten the load, Kanoo Pays will be giving away $500 in Kanoo Cash, awarded to five (5) winners who share authentic, creative, and relatable stories.
How to Participate
- Commenting their “Surviving January” story on the campaign post
- Posting a short video or creative photo showing how they’re making it through January
- Sharing budgeting tips, side hustles, sacrifices, humor, or encouragement
Creativity is encouraged. Authenticity wins.

Terms & Conditions
1. Eligibility
- Open to residents of The Bahamas only
- Participants must be 18 years or older
- Employees of Kanoo Pays and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate
2. How to Enter
To qualify, participants must:
- Have an active Kanoo App account
- Like and follow Kanoo Pays on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
- Like the official campaign post
- Submit an entry by commenting, posting a video, or sharing a creative photo related to the campaign
3. Content Guidelines
- All submissions must be original content
- Content must be respectful and must not include hate speech, offensive language, explicit material, or defamatory statements
- Submissions must not promote illegal activity or unsafe financial behavior
- Kanoo Pays reserves the right to remove or disqualify any entry that violates these guidelines
4. Judging Criteria
Winners will be selected based on:
- Creativity
- Authenticity
- Relatability
- Positive or resilient messaging
5. Selection is not based on financial hardship alone.
6. Winner Selection & Announcement
- Five (5) winners will be selected by the Kanoo Pays team
- Winners will be announced on February 1, 2025 via Kanoo Pays’ official social media platforms
- Winners will be contacted via direct message and must respond within 48 hours to claim their prize
7. Prize Collection
- Kanoo Cash will be credited directly to the winner’s Kanoo account
- Winners must agree to a photo opportunity during prize collection for promotional purposes
8. Use of Content
- By entering, participants grant Kanoo Pays permission to repost, share, and use submitted content for marketing and promotional purposes, with credit given where applicable
9. General Conditions
- Kanoo Pays reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the campaign at any time if circumstances require
- Kanoo Pays is not responsible for incomplete, lost, or delayed entries due to technical issues
