Last month, Kanoo Pays attended one of The Bahamas’ most important culinary events–Paradise Plates, a night that combined culinary excellence with fundraising generosity. The unique experience showcased some of the island’s most talented chefs and drink makers, and provided a forum to present their signature creations to the delight of over 1,500 guests. From gourmet dishes to fine wines, craft beers, and inventive cocktails, every detail was carefully curated to offer an unforgettable evening.

The community-oriented event featured artists, musicians and DJs, all of whom sponsor the event every year through their time and talent, providing entertainment that lived up to the bill as one of the most anticipated nights on the social calendar.

Paradise Plates is the leading initiative from Hands for Hunger (H4H), one of The Bahamas’ most impactful nonprofit organisations, dedicated to eliminating unnecessary Hunger and reducing food waste.

Founded in 2008, H4H has grown into a force for change. Today, through food rescue, the H4H Pantries (which assist over 7,000 registered families across the islands with groceries), community markets, education, and innovative approaches to national food security, the organization aims to inspire Bahamians to realize the power of their own contributions, collectively creating a community that is mindful of both people and the environment.

Kanoo’s partnership with H4H began shortly after the COVID pandemic, when the nonprofit teamed up with us to launch a digital food voucher program. Partnering with H4H was a natural choice, given their proven success in running Community Markets across the Family Islands to help families access nutritious food. The collaboration provided secure and efficient access to food for vulnerable communities during a time of extraordinary need.

Since then, Kanoo has remained committed to supporting H4H’s mission. This year marks the third consecutive year we powered Paradise Plates’ digital ticket sales, solidifying our position as a trusted partner in delivering innovation and efficiency.

This year’s gathering was held at Atlantis Paradise Island. The event was fully cashless, allowing guests the chance to enjoy smooth, fast, and secure transactions throughout the evening.
